Historical Notes: Benjamin Fitzpatrick migrated to Alabama from Georgia in 1816. He retired from the practice of law in 1827 and became a planter on his estate “Oak Grove” in Autauga (now Elmore) County, a few miles from Montgomery. In 1827, he married Sarah Terry Elmore had several children, and after she passed away in 1837 he married Aurelia Rachel Blassingame in 1846.
