Cornelius and Anne had settled in Natchitoches/ Claiborne Co., LA by 1820. Her son Dinsmore Cargill (b.1806 in South Carolina) was a planter in Louisiana with real estate valued at $1000 (by 1850). Dinsmore likely inherited control of the people he enslaved in 1840, Charlotte and Lucy, through his mother Anne Cargill, from his grandfather William Cornelius Sr. of Blount Co., AL.
